A Trip to the Vet

Brought my kids to a visit to the vet. Remy for a jab, while the others were meant to be dewormed. Since the carrier was limited in size, we decided to bring the two boys. Ga Ga was crying (the bitchy cry, rather than the sympathetic one) throughout the whole trip. There's something about vets.. my cats are always fearful of it. Perhaps its the smell of death, or the bad memories, or something. The vet my family normally frequents is one called Baby Pets in Taman Equine.

They probably can tell..  "This can't be good"

Remy can only relax with my mom. Without her there, the fear itself might kill him.

Oh, so scarreeddd...

Back at home. Relaxing like a boss in one of his regular spots.

Stalking a Dragonfly

One night while getting a snack I noticed my three kids staring at a wall-mounted light, as though attentively listening to the first doomsday sermon which made any sense. Upon a closer look, I realised they were stalking down a dragon fly.

Trying something different this time - I did a recording! Hoping to feature more videos in post to come. My apologies for the heavy breathing, this shows I'm too excited about my cats.

Hope you liked the video! I'll see you again in the next post.

I spy...

Three Siblings Under The Water Tank

These three fellas have found a routine, sleeping under the water tank inside their enclosure every afternoon. So exclusive.

Might be posting videos soon!

Apparently, these two monkeys got on the roof while my dad was trying to fix something. Curious cats indeed.

Profile: Ga Ga

Ga Ga

D.O.B: September 2012
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Lights brown with dark brown strips
Eye Colour: Greenish-amber
Gender: Male

Gaga came to us, or rather, my aunt when he and his two sisters were born in the roof of my aunt's house (that's between the roof tiles and insulation in case you thought there was a typo). They were abandoned by their frail mother, which never came back to retrieve or care for them. After a few days of crying, my aunt decided to bring them down, fearing they could die and causing the place to stink. The retrieval process was tedious, especially with Gaga, who refused to come down.. running around avoiding capture despite having nothing to eat or drink for days.

My mom agreed to take them in temporarily, bringing them to her kindergarten everyday to see if any parents or teachers would like to adopt them. Gaga was the clear favourite as he has very nice fur patterns. One of the teachers agreed to take him, but changed her mind last minute. There were no takers for the others.. so, guess we were keeping them all!

The names were given by one of my maid's, Ping, perhaps trying to match the names of another two kittens (Bo Bo and Cha Cha). Therefore, Ga Ga's name has nothing to do with one eccentric American singer. Ga Ga is a male-cat after all. I have no idea what it means in Cambodian.

Just a few weeks old, he was reigning terror in the house, with seeming unlimited supply of energy. My parents described him as the naughtiest cat in house. However, he had many pleasant surprises in store for us.

Ga Ga in his favourite basket.. which also happens to be the one we put our mail in.

Nooo... the lighttt..!

As it turned out, Ga Ga is quite the sweet heart. He has never hissed at anyone or anything. When we brought Brandy (our first dog) home as a puppy, scared and barking away (with cute litten arf-arfs), the other cats were unamused and unfriendly. Ga Ga stepped up and accompanied the new puppy all day and night. Even when Ellie came in, while cats a typically hostile to another which "invades" their territory, Ga Ga was quite the gentlemen, eagerly welcoming her home.

First meeting and Ga Ga says hello!

Ga Ga is also quite the comedian. My dad says he has a "funny" face, like a clown. I just think he looks blur, as he does give a "huh. what's going on?" kind of face. Of course, something he does is also quite amusing and cute.

I don't need to be in a basket to squash you!

Ga Ga is also Remy's favourite kitten in the house. In fact, he is every cats favourite cat, they all love him.
