Elle Hunting Down a Rat

One fine evening, Ellie stuck gold by successfully hunting down and capturing a little rat. Frozen in fear and bashed about, the rat played death, hoping the big cat would eventually move on.

Ultimately, we had to come to the rats rescue. Yes, it survived. Hopefully, it has been traumatised enough to not enter our home again. Enjoy exploring the neighbours!

Ellie Stalking A Squirrel

One frustrated cat, wishing that she could climb the tree, or hoping that rodent with a extra bushy tail would come down for a nice piece of death.

Profile: Ellie

D.O.B: November 2013
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Dark grey and White
Eye Colour: Yellow
Gender: Female

Ellie joined the family in January 2014.  She first popped up at my mother's kindergarten as a stray, but one which had enough charm and enchantment which made my mum bring her home. When found she was already spayed and the tip of her left ear was chipped off. It seems that this was how to tell spayed or neutered strays for population control purposes.
When she approached us, she was probably 2-3 months old, just a kitten, which was super manja (know how to act cute and suck up).

My mum grew so attached to her to a point she was concerned for her safety outdoor.. worrying she might get hit by a car or if a dog might maul her to death, especially when she was absent a couple of times and after not taking in another friendly cat, Arthur, which eventually stopped showing up and might had been killed (that story for another time).

So anyway, we brought her home! As usually, cats are hostile towards other cats.. except for Ga Ga who welcomed her home with open arms!

She was a brave fella, who wasn't one bit afraid of the dogs in the house. Even caught her chasing them before. She was quite thin when we brought her in, but now she's pretty and fat! She does however, have a weird "dead prawn" like smell near her head. Weird.

She's an interesting one, often coming to us and just crashing on the floor on top of our legs, just to be affectionate. And of course, she's pretty! Nice tail and proportionate body. A real keeper!

She looks like a rat in this picture. A nice rat!

Stalking a Dragonfly

One night while getting a snack I noticed my three kids staring at a wall-mounted light, as though attentively listening to the first doomsday sermon which made any sense. Upon a closer look, I realised they were stalking down a dragon fly.

Trying something different this time - I did a recording! Hoping to feature more videos in post to come. My apologies for the heavy breathing, this shows I'm too excited about my cats.

Hope you liked the video! I'll see you again in the next post.

I spy...
